Rickshaw in Yamamoto-tei

Rickshaw in yamamoto-tei
yamamoto-tei
This rickshaw is set on an entrance of yamamoto-tei.
English word, "rickshaw" came from Japanese word "jinrikisha".
Jinrikisha literally means human power vehicle.

I did not know that the name came from the japanese language. I saw such "vehicles" on Hiroshige paintings..

Very nice image, I thought that rickshaw were mostly chinese.
Anyway I prefer another 'human power vehicle': the bike! Anyone has to pedal for himself...
