
I took these photos in Higashi Gyoen (The East Gardens of Imperial Palace).
There once was a five storied main tower of Edo castle on the base.
It was burnt down by great fire in 1657.

The big stones and the high view give us an idea of the size of the castle before it burned.;Great place, and it's easy to understand why it was built THERE..
The remains of the inner enclosure of the Edo castle are still giving a hope and inspiration us for peace.
