Bairin-zaka (slope)




Bairin-zaka literary means Ume grove slope.
This slope is in Higashi Gyoen ( East Gardens of Imperial Palace ) that is located on the former site of Edo castle.
Many ume trees are planted there.
When I visited there, those ume blossoms are almost in full bloom.

Higashi Gyoen in Early Spring



Today, I went to Higashi Gyoen ( The East Gardens of Imperial Palace ).
The Eeast Gardens are located on the former site of Edo castle.
You can see a stone wall of the castle in the photo above.





Many ume trees are planted there.
And it was nice time to see ume blossoms.



You can see a bird on a branch of the ume tree in the photo above.

And I could see some early blooming cherry blossoms.
Photo below is kawazu-zakura.
Kawazu-zakura is a kind of cherry blossom start to bloom in winter.



It was almost full bloom.

Photo below is kanhi-zakura.
Kanhi-zakura is also early blooming cherry blossom.



It was not in full bloom yet.

It takes around 10 minutes from Tokyo station to The East Gardens by walking.
