Bar Lupin
I found this narrow alley, when I walked along miyuki-dori (street) in ginza.
You can see sign of "Lupin" in this photo.
Bar, "Lupin" was loved by excellent novelists such as Yasunari Kawabata (1899-1972) and Kafu Nagai (1879-1959).
A famous portrait of Osamu Dazai (1909-1948) and Ango Sakaguchi (1906-1955), was taken in the bar by photographer, Tadahiko Hayashi (1918-1990).

Fantastic, love it.
I like very much Yasunari Kawabata's novels.
But by the way, do you know who "Lupin" was?
His complete name is Arsène Lupin, and he is a literary character created by a french writer called Maurice Leblanc.Lupin is known as the "gentleman-burglar". He uses a lot of disguises . And all the women fall in love for him, because he's so charming... There were a TV serie, movies, and lots of books about him. I'm very surprised to discover him in Tokyo!!
Forgot to say that the portrait above the word Lupin on the sign is the same than the one used on Lupin books covers..
Very nice find in the alleys of Ginza. Malyss is right, I recognize the portrarit of Lupin on the sign.
nice find. would love to see the inside of that bar!
I do like finding out of the way back alleys always so much to see for the photographer.
I've watched the cartoon Lupin, the bar must be cool since it's named after him. Wow, yasunari Kawabata? I have one of his books, snow country. =)
