Printemps Ginza is a department store which is located ginza 3-chome along sotobori-dori(street).

It was opened in 1984.

It is popular among young women.

Yonei Building

Yonei building is a small building which is located ginaza 2-chome.
It was built in 1930.
I like this building.

Especially I love this entrance.
Nostalgic atmosphere still remains in ginza.

Light upped Matsuya Ginza

This is Matsuya department store at ginza.
It is located along chuo-dori(street).
It is one of most popular department store in ginza.

By the way, they cultivate vegetables in the roof of the building.
Because it prevent a temperature rise of the concrete in summer.

Light Upped Ginza Mitsukoshi

This is Mitsukoshi department store at ginza.
This building is located in one of the corner of ginza 4-chome crossing.
I think it is the most famous crossing in Tokyo.

Light Upped Wako Building

This is Wako department store main store in ginza.
It is a symbolic building of ginza.
I heard that they reduced electricity to light up the building about 70% by improvement of equipment in 1999.

Mikimoto Christmas Tree

This is a big christmas tree displyed in front of Mikimoto main store.
It is along chuo-dori(street) at ginza.
When I went to there, many people wew taking photo with them cell phone.
I took the photo above around 4 pm.
And after around an hour, I took the photo below.

Ginza at Twilight

In this time the sun set early.
In this week, I introduce you the sceneries of ginza at twilight.
Ginza is well known upmarket area in Tokyo.

This photo is a view of chuo-dori(street) at ginza 4-chome.
I took this photo on saturday, so the street at this area was car free in afternoon.
Many people were on the road.

End Year Jumbo Draw

This is nishi-ginza chance center.
This lottery ticket counter is very popular.

Photo above is a line of the people buying the ticket of "End Year Jumbo Draw"(nenmatsu-jumbo takara kuji).
So many people are in the line.
But, I think probability to hit is same, even if they buy it any place....

Small Electric Part Shops in Akihabara

When I was young
I'd listten to the radio
waitin' for my favorite songs.............(Yesterday Once More)

Maid cafe, anime, game, and otaku good shops....
Akihabara is changing.

But you can still see the nostalgic scenery of akihabara electric town.


Along the narrow path between old buildings, under the railroad overpath,
there are many of narrow electric part shops.



I think it is the original scenery of akihabara electric town.
I remember when I was a boy, I went to there to find a part of the radio.
So those sceneries take me back to my boyhood.

But just now, I have no time to be in nostalgic mood.
Because, tomorrow, I must go to nishi-ginza for treasure hunting!!
I will be waitting for you there tomorrow!!

Maid in Akihabara

They say that akihabara is a holy place for Otaku.
I think maid cafe is one of symbol of Otaku-culture.
That maid just looks like a character of anime.
She is promoting the maid cafe.

By the way, I will show you a nostalgic scenery in akihabara tomorrow.

Akihabara in after noon

Well, at last, we came back to akihabara.
Please remember akihabara is near to "ueno".
And it is also near to "asakusa" where is famous tourist spot.
By the way, those photos are akihabara electric town.
On that day I took these photos, It was cloudy (a little rainy), those lights were on early time.

Views from Ueno Park

Photo above is chuo-dori(street).
If you go down along the street to the south, you will got to elctric town of akihabara, and also ginza.

Shinobazu Pond in Twilight

Around a half month I have posted photos of ueno park.
I will come back to this park some day.
Because this park has each beauty in the four seasons.

Ueno Toshogu (3)

Today I introduce you the main building of ueno toshogu.
The building is called "Konjiki-den".
"konjiki" means golden.

Ueno Toshogu (2)

Yesterday, We walked on the approach the shrine to here, in front of the Karamon(chinese style gate).
Well, let's go to see the main building.


This is an entrance to the main building.
We have to pay 200 yen each to enter.

Main building is surrounded by the wall.
We have to walk around the wall to enter.
Those yellow leaves on the ground are ginkgo leaves.

The wall is called "Sukashi-bei", a kind of openworked wall.

If you walk along the wall, you can see this lovely small garden side of the path.


Sorry I can't introduce you main building of the shrine today.
Because I wanted to show you these photos.
Tomorrow, I introduce you the main building and the view over the wall.

Ueno Toshogu (1)

Toshogu means a shinto shrine devoted Tokugawa Ieyasu (1543-1616) who was the founder and first Shogun (general) of the Tokugawa shogunate.

Ueno Toshogu is one of Toshogu.
It is located the southwest corner of ueno park.

Photo above is the gateway to the shrine.
It is made of stone.

If you path through the gate, you will see other gate soon.


Photo above is the gate to approach to the main shrine.

This is the approch to the main shrine, you can see stone lanterns both side of the approach.



Photo above is stone lunterns.
There are many of stone lanterns and copper lanteans in the shrine.
Those were offered by feudal lords under the rule of the Tokugawa shogunate.

Photo above is Karamon ( chinese style of gate), with Haiden (worship hall) to the rear.
I introduce you Haiden and Honden (Main shrine) tomorrow.

Little Shop in Ueno Park

This little shop is by entrance of ueno zoo.
They sell drink, snack and small toy.
I think this shop have not changed sinve I was a child.
I like this nostalgic atmosphere.
Please remember, ueno is a down town of Tokyo.

Ueno Zoo

Ueno Zoo is the oldest and most famous zoo in Japan.
It is located in ueno park.
The zoo is divided in two part, east part and west part.
Those two part are connected by a monorail which is first monorail in Japan.

Sogakudo

This is the oldest western concert hall in Japan.
It is held in ueno park as one of important cultural property.

By the building, there is a statue of Rentaro Taki who is well-known composer in Japan.
