I took this photo on denpoin-street. That is a udon (Japanese thick noodle) restaurant. If you visit asakusa in morning, you can see many nice shutter art.
The samurai on the shutter wears these - in my eyes - very uncomfortable traditional Japanese "shoes" / clog sandels (?) I don't know their right name. I saw these "shoes" in front of one of the Kamakura temples. There was a traditional Japanese wedding ceremony inside. Do you have a pair of these sandals, too, Nobu-san?

I find very pretty and clever to decorate the shutters this way. Here we have often ugly graffitis; But I guess you have to wake up to admire them!
Beautiful!
Thanks all!!
You-wee; It is "Geta"(下駄).
I sometime wera it when I go to summer festival.
I love this! I wish the shuttered shops in Seattle were this lively and colorful. :-)
