The Old Building of The Bank of Japan

The Bank of Japan is the central bank of Japan.
The head office of the bank consists of the old building, new building, and annex building.
Those are located in nihonbashi motoishi-cho.

The old building was built in 1903.
It was designed by Kingo Tatsuno (1854-1919).
He is also known as architect who designed the old building of the Tokyo station.
I took this photo from sotobori-dori (street).

Walking from Ginza to Akihabara (mitsui honkan)

I have passed nihonbashi bridge, and still walking along chuo-dori(street) at nihonbashi.
This building is Mitsui honkan building.
It was built in 1929.

Around this building, there are some buildings which I should post.
But I must harry up to get akihabara.
I will show you those buildings some day.

Walking from Ginza to Akihabara (nihonbashi bridge)

I have been walking along chuo-dori(street) from ginza for akihabara, and I'm at nihonbashi bridge.
Original nihonbashi bridge was built in 1603 as wooden bridge.
It was a symbol of Edo(old name of Tokyo) on that days.

Current bridge( the 19th nihonbashi bridge) made of stone was built 1911.
I like this bridge and details of the bridge.
But I think the scenery of the bridge is not so beautiful, because of the highway above the bridge.
I think that highway (Metropolitan Expressway) should move to under ground.

Walking from Ginza to Akihabara (takashimaya)

I'm walking chuo-dori(street) at nihonbashi.
Nihonbashi is a well known financial district in Japan.
And it is also commercial district.
This building is a takashimaya department store.


There is pair of new year's decoration in front of the entrance.
