Nostalgia

I took this photo on Shohei-bridge that is over Kanda-gawa (Kanda-river).
That railroad overpass is JR-sobu line.
You can see Hijiri-bridge away (It looks very small in this photo).
At dusk,  this view send me into a nostalgic feeling.

Sakai-bashi

Sakai-bashi is a bridge across Kitajyukken-gawa (canal).
You can see Tokyo Sky Tree over the bridge.

I took these photos on sotobori-dori (street) at Ochanomizu.

Hijiri-bashi (bridge) is a bridge crosses over Kanda-gawa (river).

Reading by the River

I took this photo by Sumida-gawa ( Sumida river).
You can see Komagata-bashi ( Komagata bridge) over there.

Kachidoki-bashi

Kachidoki-bashi (Kachidoki bridge) is a bridge across sumida-gawa (sumida river).
The bridge was built 1940 as moveable bridge (double leaf bascule bridge).
But the bridge has never raised leaves since 1970.

Nijyu-bashi

This bridge (photo above) is made of stone.
It leads to the main gate of Imperial palace from Imperial palace plaza.
You can see fushimi-turret of former Edo castle over the bridge.

And there are another bridge over this moat.
It is behind this bridge.



This bridge is made of iron.
It leads to inside of imperial palace from main gate.
We usually call those two bridges "Nijyu-bashi"
But originally "nijyu-bashi" indicate this iron bridge.

Hijiri-bashi

Hihiri-bashi is a bridge across kanda-gawa(river).
It was built in 1927.
Name of the bridge was decided by an open call participant.
"Hijiri-bashi( 聖橋 )" literally means "holy bridge" or "sacred bridge".

Bridge between two holy places

This is hijiri-bashi (hijiri-bridge).
Hijiri-bashi literally means "holy bridge" or "sacred bridge".
This bridge is btween two holy places.

Subway tracks are across the river.
You can see platform of ochanomizu railway station in the right.

I have just crossed the bridge.
I'm approaching to the final destination in this walking.

Walking from Ginza to Akihabara (mansei-bashi)

I'm still walking along chuo-dori(street) to the north.
Photo above is mansei-bashi(bridge).
It is a bridge over kanda-gawa(river).
You can see buildings in akihabara electric town over there.

Walking from Ginza to Akihabara (nihonbashi bridge)

I have been walking along chuo-dori(street) from ginza for akihabara, and I'm at nihonbashi bridge.
Original nihonbashi bridge was built in 1603 as wooden bridge.
It was a symbol of Edo(old name of Tokyo) on that days.

Current bridge( the 19th nihonbashi bridge) made of stone was built 1911.
I like this bridge and details of the bridge.
But I think the scenery of the bridge is not so beautiful, because of the highway above the bridge.
I think that highway (Metropolitan Expressway) should move to under ground.

It is close to akihabara electric town.

Both side of the bridge, there are bridges for walker.
