Sakashita Mon (Gate)
Sakashita mon(gate) was a gate of former Edo castle.
In the present, it is an entrance of Imperial palace.
This tree is Japanese black pine.
You might have seen it as bonsai (miniature potted tree).

I like the tree form on this one.
It appears this area is very well-maintained and thus, very clean. It looks peaceful and calm.
I always admire the simple and exquisite beauty of the Japanese architecture and gardens. ANd bonsai is one of my favorite art.
I think this is my first visit to your Tokyo snap photo blog, Nobu. I didn't know you had it. Usually I only visited your Funabashi photo blog.
The tree does have a shape similar to bonsai. I think I like this one slightly better because it is more natural.
